Kennel Manager
Michelle Hanten

Dog Obedience Training/ Boarding/ Daycare Manager hails from the state of Iowa.  I moved to Mitchell with my family at a young age.  A graduate from Mitchell High School where I met my husband (Todd) and we raised our 3 sons (T.J., Levi, and Wyatt) in rural Mitchell.  Our sons were very active in 4-H shooting sports, horse, dog, and cat projects, this was where I became a 4-H leader and project leader for horse, dog and cat.  Serving on the State horse committee and state dog committee.  I remain to be active in the Dog project today even though my sons have graduated.  This is where I was able to obtain a lot of my training techniques by working with all the different breeds of dogs and different owners.  I decided to take my training to a different level when our youngest son was given a beautiful Doberman.  Being one of those so called bad breeds she became a Canine Good Citizen Dog and I became a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator so that I could help more people have their dogs become Canine Good Citizens.  But I did not stop there with my dog.  I took it a step farther having her Therapy Dog Certified.  I have enjoyed working with animals and my love for animals started at a very young age.  My personal goal when it comes to training is helping people to understand their dogs needs and working with both of them to be successful, as a happy owner only means for a happy dog.  I am so excited to join the staff at Creekside and can't wait to help you and your dog.

My very first grooming was my families long haired cat when I was 16 years old. I hand scissored Fluffy in short increments over the course of two days. Little did I know, that interest would end up being a wonderful second career choice! I grew up in Mitchell, and currently live near Alexandria on a farm with my husband and our family. We have a dog, a lot of cats, horses & cattle.  I have been grooming for over 25 years.
